Lee's Story
Lee has been caring for his partner Buddy at home for more than five years, while holding down a full time job as a travel agent. Buddy, suffering from AIDS, no longer works. He has experienced dementia. He is weak, and finds it very hard to walk or carry anything. When Lee is not working he is at home in their small apartment caring for Buddy or out running errands related to Buddy's illness.

Lee is beginning to bend under the strain. Lee's mood is so low that his doctor prescribed anti-depressant medication for him. Sadly, the future shows no promise of substantial relief for either Buddy or Lee. While Buddy is not sick enough to live in a long term care facility, it is unlikely that he will be well enough again to take care of himself. Lee continues to do his best despite many financial and emotional burdens.
